AlixPartners promotes economics consulting professional to Managing Director

We are delighted to report that our colleague, Derek Holt, has been promoted to Managing Director in our European economics consulting practice. Derek’s promotion reflects his substantial contribution across a range of competition and regulatory cases.

In 2017 alone, Derek acted as an independent expert for:

• Visa Inc. in relation to various interchange fee Court litigation (where the Court decided that Article 101(1) had not been infringed);
• Visa Inc. in relation to the European Commission’s investigation of inter-regional interchange fees;
• Ping in relation to an appeal of a Competition and Markets Authority decision concerning Ping’s internet sales policy;
• An automotive OEM before the Competition Appeal Tribunal relating to its action for damages in relation to the bearings cartel.

Derek’s promotion increases the number of Managing Directors focused on economics in London to four. The senior team consists of 25 economists based in the UK and Germany and includes eight testifying experts. The team works on cases across Europe in multiple languages and is integrated within the firm’s litigation practice that includes forensic accountants and data analytics experts.
