Osborne Clarke expands German patent litigation and life sciences regulatory team
Osborne Clarke has added a patent litigation group to its Frankfurt office. It is led by new equity partner Nora Keßler and includes a counsel who can appear before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). In Munich, the firm has hired a life sciences regulatory counsel from White & Case. The new teams will cover national patent cases, arbitration and UPC proceedings, and healthcare and healthtech regulation.
Why it matters: US technology and life sciences companies increasingly enforce and defend their European patents at the UPC, so more specialist capacity in Germany is useful to them.
