Brexit: Phase 2 begins
On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen took a trip to London to meet with Boris Johnson, their first face-to-face encounter as the new leaders of their respective blocs. Digital tax dispute rumbles on
France and the United States have agreed to “double their efforts in the coming days to try and reach a compromise on digital taxation within the OECD“. The agreement comes after a phone call on Monday, January 6 between French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Mr. Le Maire is due to meet with Mr. Mnuchin at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland later this month. Keep reading.
