EU-UK Future Relationship: Council adopts negotiating directives
On Tuesday, the EU Council adopted a decision to authorise the commencement of negotiations on the future relationship with the UK. As has been repeatedly stated by the EU, the mandate stresses that the future partnership must be “underpinned by robust commitments to ensure a level playing field for open and fair competition”. Europe reacts to the Coronavirus
According to Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, a “decisive point” has been reached, given the “pandemic potential” of the coronavirus outbreak. The head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) made the comments after Iran and Italy became the major centres of infection outside China. Currently more than 80,000 people in 50 countries have been infected with nearly 2,800 having died, mainly in China’s Hubei province. Keep reading
