The fifth round of U.S. – EU negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) agreement will take place in Arlington, Virginia from May 19 – 23, 2014. The negotiating teams will discuss the full range of T-TIP negotiating issues including, trade in goods and services; investment; regulatory issues; sanitary and phytosanitary measures; government procurement; intellectual property rights; electronic commerce and telecommunications; environment; labor; small and medium-sized enterprises; and energy and raw materials.
On the margins of the 5th round negotiations, U.S. and EU negotiators will host a forum to provide an update to all interested stakeholders on the status of the negotiations and to solicit their input and feedback. The forum will take place on Wednesday, May 21st from 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at TBD location and will feature two separate components:
(1) Stakeholder Policy Presentations – 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Stakeholders are invited to deliver presentations to U.S. and EU negotiators outlining their interest in the TTIP agreement. Presentation time slots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis until capacity is reached. Stakeholders must register by Friday, May 9, 2014 in order to receive a time assignment. (2) Chief Negotiators Briefing – 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
U.S. and EU Chief Negotiators will provide a briefing on the status of the negotiations and will answer stakeholder questions. The briefing is open to registered stakeholders. In order to attend, stakeholders must register by Friday, May 9, 2014. To register, please click here.
USTR will hold a media briefing at the end of the negotiating round on Friday, May 23, 2014 in Washington, D.C. The briefing will be open to credentialed members of the press.
