Environment minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen is to open the third European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Water Conference in the Frisian provincial capital, Leeuwarden, on 10 February. The Leeuwarden conference is being held under the auspices of the Netherlands Presidency of the EU, like the Cities and Water conference that follows directly after it. The previous conferences were held in Brussels and Barcelona.
The day’s events will include various side meetings and a programme of visits to water companies and authorities in Fryslân.
The conference is being organised by the European Commission with support from the Euopean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology (Wetsus), the municipality of Leeuwarden, the Province of Fryslân, the Dutch Water Authorities, the water companies’ trade association (VEWIN) and WaterCampus Leeuwarden.
