Dillon Eustace Cayman Update: Directors Registration and Licensing Law 2014

The government of the Cayman Islands has introduced the Directors Registration and Licensing Law 2014 (the “Law”), together with implementing Regulations, pursuant to which individuals and corporate companies acting as directors of certain covered entities need to be either registered or licensed.

The Law was passed on Thursday, April 10, 2014 and took effect on June 4, 2014 subject to limited exceptions.

Below is a link to a Dillon Eustace client briefing which outlines some of the key aspects of the Law and the next steps required to be taken by directors in order to comply with it. This information will be of interest to asset managers with Cayman investment funds and the directors of such entities.

If you require specific advice on this Law, and/or wish to understand its impact further, please feel free to contact Matt Mulry (matt.mulry@dilloneustace.ie) or your usual contact in Dillon Eustace.
