Goldberg Segalla’s Joseph M. Hanna Honored for Leadership in Litigation and Promoting Diversity

Goldberg Segalla partner Joseph M. Hanna recently received honors that underscore both his prominence as a commercial litigator and his steadfast drive to promote diversity. The accolades reflect our firmwide commitment to raising the standards of legal practice as well as advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal and business communities.

Joe earned special placement among the Top 10: Best of the Best in Business First’s 2014 Legal Elite of Western New York, an exclusive list of the area’s most accomplished and respected attorneys. The Top 10 highlighted those who received the most nominations from the legal community. He joined seven other Goldberg Segalla partners on this year’s Legal Elite.

Earlier this year, Joe was one of only five lawyers in the U.S. to be named a Law360 Rising Star in Media and Entertainment, highlighting the impact he has made on this industry as Chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Sports and Entertainment Practice Group and as editor of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment Law Insider blog.

The Minority Bar Association of Western New York (MBAWNY) also honored Joe recently by presenting him with its 2014 Legal Service Award in recognition of his leadership and work for the minority bar statewide. Joe is a past President of the organization and currently serves as President of the MBAWNY Foundation. He chairs Goldberg Segalla’s Diversity Task Force.

Joe received recognition at the national level from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA), which just named him one of its 2014 Diversity & the Bar Rainmakers. He will be featured in the magazine’s November/December issue. Joe previously received a George B. Vashon Innovator award from the MCCA, and he has been commended by the New York State Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and other organizations for his commitment to promoting diversity.
