Celebrate Finland’s Centennial with Us on National Mall!

On June 17, Finland celebrates her 100th Birthday on the National Mall. The family-friendly Midsummer FinFun event is open and free for everybody.

The Embassy of Finland in Washington, D.C., celebrates Finland’s centennial throughout the year. One of the biggest events, the Midsummer FinFun, will take place on Saturday, June 17 on the National Mall.

The prestigious location will allow for an unforgettable, family-friendly celebration. The day will be full of Finnish sports and other outdoor activities in the spirit of the Finnish Midsummer traditions. Visitors are welcome to try the famous Mölkky game, see dance performances and test their luck in a raffle.

Team Ajattomat, an award-winning Finnish dance group, will also perform at the event. The talented team of women will tell the story of Finland in the form of movement that combines physical challenge to artistic expression.

The celebrations will take place on June 17 from 10am until 2pm at the German-American Friendship Garden between the Washington Monument and the White House. The garden borders Constitution Avenue between 15th and 17th Streets and is easily accessible by foot or public transportation.

All activities will go on through the day, enabling guests to join in any time. The event is free of charge and open for everybody.
