W2NYC – Global Industry Challenge – Preparing for NYC’s Next Industrial Revolution

Below is an announcement from our friends at NYC EDC  about the next World to NYC program, which will take place in May 12-14, 2014 in New York City.  The Global Industry Challenge will focus on innovative new manufacturing technologies, such as the convergence between the physical and digital world, and the rise of 3D printing to name a few.

Are you the founder or CEO of a company on the cutting-edge of new manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing, connected devices, high value manufacturing and related services?

Are you supporting, enhancing or even disrupting established businesses and business models?

Are you ready to take advantage of global economic opportunities in the USA through New York City?

New York City is witnessing substantial growth in the field of new manufacturing – the convergence between the physical and digital world, the rise of 3D printing, and the omnipresence of connected devices. To remain on the forefront of this movement, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the City’s economic development arm, invites innovative companies from around the world to participate in World to NYC: Global Industry Challenge, a unique and highly selective program.

Chosen companies will receive:
• Three days of planned activities and workshops with industry leaders
• Networking and social opportunities with potential partners and fellow invited guests
• Site visits and company introductions
• Practical workshops geared towards expanding businesses into NYC

Previous participants have described World to NYC as a “wonderful program with very strong organization;” a “huge success in helping all of us all get a grasp of what it takes to move to NYC;” and emphasized how the program provides “practical and strategic assistance to expand to NYC.”
