A&L Goodbody acted for Eaton Corporation in its $11.8bn recommended offer for Cooper Industries plc. The acquisition which is subject to certain terms and conditions is to be effected by a scheme of arrangement under Irish law and is expected to close later this year. It is the largest public takeover in Irish history.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) is seeking comments on an interim rule that amends its regulations governing the importation of merchandise bearing recorded trademarks or recorded trade names. That interim rule becomes effective on publication in the Federal Register.
