Because a third-party vendor is involved, the system issues a due diligence checklist and records contract requirements for data, transparency, and support. Validation plans are generated based on risk.

Once deployed, dashboards show performance and drift. If metrics cross thresholds, a change ticket opens with assigned actions, and leadership sees the status on a monthly report.

AI governance measures that matter

Define a small set of metrics showing whether governance is working. For example:

• Percentage of AI use cases with complete inventory records,
• Average time from intake to approval,
• Tests executed on time,
• Issues resolved on time, and
• Number of changes processed with full evidence.

These indicators help leaders allocate resources and improve predictability.

Culture and communication

Governance succeeds when people understand why it exists. Communicate early and often. Publish a simple guide for product teams that explains how to request approval, how validation works, and where to find help. Recognize teams following the process and delivering measurable outcomes. Train reviewers so standards are applied consistently.
